For a long time, these books existed in two forms: on the page, and in my head. Now they have a third.
This week, my audiobooks passed their final review and were released for distribution:
- By What It Does
- The Shepherd Who Did Not Look Away
- The Ones Who Looked Away
- Where the Flame Walks: Author's Special Edition
- Where the Lost One Went
- Still Functioning
One thing I want you to know before you press play: these are narrated by a digital voice, not a human narrator. The stores will say so on each listing, and I'd rather you hear it from me first. The words are the same words. The voice is not mine, and it isn't an actor's. It's a clear, steady reading that lets the books reach people who can't sit down with a paperback: people driving to work, sitting in waiting rooms, walking at night, or caring for someone and doing it one-handed.
What happens next
"Published" doesn't mean they're in every store tomorrow. The files go out to audiobook stores and library services one by one, and each of them takes its own time. Some will show up in a few days, and some will take several weeks. Not every store carries digitally narrated books yet, so a book may not appear in every app you use.
Where to find them
Open the audiobook app you already use and search for the title with my name. If it isn't there yet, give it a week and try again. If your library uses a lending app, you can ask the library to add a title.
What would help me most
If you listen and a book stays with you, leave a rating or a few honest words wherever you found it. That helps the next person find it more than anything I could post.
And if you want to talk about what you heard, The Staying Place is open. Pull up a chair.
